Everything you need to know about Scripture Stack. Can’t find your answer? Reach out anytime.
Scripture Stack is a guided Scripture-memory app for families. It helps children and parents memorize passages through structured quests, interactive practice, speech recognition, and long-term review.
We have had no problems with entire chapters from the Bible, including reciting and getting results from being checked. We have entered books of the Bible one chapter at a time and that works well.
No! While Scripture Stack was designed with Bible memorization in mind, you can use it for any text you want to memorize — poems, speeches, educational content, or any other passages meaningful to your family.
Parent accounts can create child accounts for family members. Child accounts use only a username and password (no email required), can only see passages assigned to them by their parent, and cannot create additional accounts. Parents have full visibility into their children’s progress.
Yes! Both free and paid accounts can create multiple child accounts. Each child gets their own username and password, and you can assign passages and track their progress separately.
Parent accounts can use the “Forgot Username” or “Forgot Password” links on the login page; we’ll send recovery information to your registered email. Child accounts need to ask their parent to reset their password from the parent’s account.
Scripture Stack uses OpenAI’s Whisper technology to transcribe your spoken recitation. The audio is processed securely and compared to the original passage to show exactly where you did well and where you need practice. Your audio is not stored after processing.
Scripture Stack offers several practice modes: Hide (text completely hidden), First Letters, First Letters with Blanks, Hide 3 (randomly hides 3 words at a time), and Full Text. The Check mode combines hiding with recording to test yourself.
Accuracy compares your recitation to the original passage using text comparison that accounts for minor variations (like “God’s” vs “Gods”) while marking missing, incorrect, and extra words. The percentage reflects how many words you got correct out of the total.
Scripture Stack works best on modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For the best speech-recognition experience, we recommend Chrome or Edge on desktop, or Safari on iOS devices.
A microphone is only needed if you want to use the speech-recognition feature to check your recitation. You can still use all other features — including typing practice and progress tracking — without one.
Currently, Scripture Stack requires an internet connection. We’re considering offline functionality for future updates.
Yes. Passwords are encrypted, we use SSL/TLS for all data transmission, and we never sell or share your personal information with third parties. Audio recordings are processed but not stored. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes, you have full control over your data. You can export your passages and progress data at any time, and request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
Yes! Scripture Stack offers a free tier that includes one featured passage per month, multiple child accounts, all practice tools, and progress tracking. The Family Plan ($24/year) adds the full guided journey and unlimited custom passages.
Both plans include child accounts, practice tools, speech recognition, and progress tracking. The Family Plan adds all guided Scripture Quests, unlimited custom passages, the parent dashboard, multiple translations, and long-term review.
We’re a homeschooling family building this for families like yours — we’d love to help.
